Designs and integrates aircraft/spacecraft electrical systems with full 3D CAD, harness routing, and PLM control from concept through release.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer/Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or related field; or equivalent experience
3+ years in aerospace electrical design and integration (aircraft, rotorcraft, satellite, or spacecraft)
Proficiency with at least two CAD platforms: CATIA V5/V6 or 3DEXPERIENCE, Siemens NX/Unigraphics NX, SolidWorks, or Creo
Harness/wiring design and 3D routing experience; wire sizing/derating, connector/backshell selection, shielding, and separation per EWIS/AS50881
Creation of 2D drawings and release packages with GD&T and ASME Y14.x standards
Familiarity with avionics buses and power systems (ARINC 429/664, MIL-STD-1553, CAN, Ethernet; 28 VDC/115 VAC 400 Hz/270 VDC)
PLM/ALM proficiency for configuration and change control (Teamcenter, ENOVIA/3DX, Windchill) and requirements tools (DOORS/Jama)
Working knowledge of EMI/EMC and environmental standards (RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-461/810)
Electrical/Harness ECAD: Siemens Capital (Mentor Capital), Zuken E3.series, AutoCAD Electrical
Space power/avionics or eVTOL/HV architectures; SSPC/PDU selection and load analysis
Model-Based Systems Engineering (SysML/Cameo/MagicDraw) and simulation (MATLAB/Simulink, SPICE/PLECS)
DO-254/DO-178C collaboration and verification planning; DER/ODA exposure
Manufacturing methods for wire harnesses and enclosures; DFM/DFA and supplier release
Basic PCB/power electronics familiarity (DC-DC, BMS, motor controllers)
Develop electrical system architectures and power distribution, integrating avionics, comms, navigation, and sensors
Perform 3D wiring/harness routing in CAD; define clamps, supports, strain relief, bonding/grounding, and installation clearances
Generate schematics, wire lists, harness drawings, and bill of materials; size wires and protections; conduct voltage-drop/thermal/fault analyses
Produce and release engineering documentation and datasets via PLM; manage baselines, ECR/ECOs, and traceability to requirements
Plan and support verification (continuity/hipot/TDR, EMI/EMC, environmental) and resolve nonconformances with root cause and corrective actions
Collaborate with mechanical, RF, software, and manufacturing to ensure packaging, thermal, EMC, and producibility requirements are met
Support certification/readiness activities and conformity to FAA/EASA or mission/agency standards throughout the lifecycle
