Costing Digital analytics and innovation team is looking for a member of the Jigs and Tools, Industrialisation Costing team Reference Chamber Team member”.

As general information:

  • FCCA Manufacturing Costing team is a key enabler for Airbus to reach competitive costing targets for all programs and pricing agreements with suppliers (new contracts, claims, pricing models) and to take balanced operational and strategic decisions on a wide range of manufacturing and procurement topics.

  • Using detailed, up to date knowledge of aircraft manufacturing processes, FCCA provides a neutral, independent view of manufacturing costs and actively supports supplier negotiations and Airbus decision making on the full perimeter of current and future manufacturing processes/technologies. FCCA is responsible for the full aircraft perimeter for all programs (R&T, Single Aisle family, A220, A330, A350XWB, A380, Beluga) both NRC (Non Recurring Cost for Jigs, Tools, Industrialisation & programming Costs) and RC (Recurring Costs), Make and Buy.

  • FCCA is leading all the costing aerostructure manufacturing activities and shall master all the different manufacturing and assembly processes both on RC and NRC. For this purpose FCCAD (Methods & Tools team from FCCA) develops and maintains parametric & digital models and costing data allowing it to answer to costing requests at all stages of the aircraft development and series life.

  • FCCA has run a major transformation enabled by Digitalization which has a significant impact on our methods and tools (digital tools, big data) and our people skills and competences (data analysis, business partnering). Transnational leadership at FCCA level is key as our teams have members in all Airbus Natcos.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The jobholder will be responsible for:

  • Support the development, implementation and documentation of costing models and references for the Non Recurring Costs “NRC” (Jigs, Tools, Industrialisation & programming Costs) linked to all the Aerostructure manufacturing processes (Machining, Sheet Metal Forming, Composite, Tubes & Pipes, Surface Treatment,...) and assembly processes (at Work Package, Constituent Assembly and Final Assembly Line levels). These models and references are used across the Airbus organization in both the early design phases as well as in supplier negotiations for fully defined work packages. 

  • Support the harmonization of models for all cost engineers (FCCA) across all the airbus plants.

  • Improve the models based on feedback users

  • Jigs and Tools estimations on operational cases.

  • Support of Costing staff in specific estimation, procurement or Design to Cost activities according to needs, ensuring understanding, credibility and durable confidence in Costing results. 

  • Support to the development and maintenance of Airbus Jigs and Tools Costing knowledge of current and future technologies.

  • Being part of the Reference chamber Jigs and tools team.

  • Reporting to the Reference ChamberJigs and tools leader and FCCAD management.
     

SKILLS:

  • Education: Engineering degree  or a related discipline.

  • Experience: At least 5 years in Jigs and Tools. Any knowledge in manufacturing processes would be recommended like Machining, Sheet metal forming, Forging, Casting, Composite (ATL, FP, RTM, LRI, Hand Lay up), 3D printing or Assembly process.

  • Soft skills: Good communication skills; self organized; strong motivation; proactiveness; team spirit; transnational mindset; open minded.

  • Languages: Advanced level in English. High level of Spanish would be valuable.

  • Technical knowledge: The person has to embrace digitalization.

  • Valuable / Nice to have: General project management skills are recommended.
