This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. Everett, WA.
Position Responsibilities:
Develops and tests software applications aimed at performing multidisciplinary design, analysis and optimization of aircraft.
Research and/or test latest design, analysis and optimization software in the industry, especially Open Source.
Research and develop MDAO-hardened analysis methods for conventional (ie tube and wings with turbofans) and non-conventional (ie box wing with hybrid-electric turboprops, etc.)
Ability to modify or implement software methods to enable adjoint state methodology.
Produce uncertainty quantification by comparing authoritative data to method prediction
Model and audit aircraft data library
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Ability to perform fixed-wing aircraft sizing methodology
Knowledge of aerodynamics, structures, propulsion, mass properties, stability & control, kinematics, aircraft performance
Computer programming expertise
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
Knowledge regarding 14 CFR
Experience performing optimization
Knowledge of optimization methodology
Wind tunnel and data collection method knowledge
Knowledge and experience with control theory along with implementation
Knowledge of Boeing’s various engineering database management
Experience programming in Python
Design-Build-Test experience of aircraft
Experience with Open Source software associated with aircraft analysis
Typical Education/Experience:
Experienced (Level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
Expert (Level 4): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years related work experience, Master+7 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Consultant (Level 5): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years related work experience, Master+12 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Summary Pay Range Experienced Level 3: $96,050-$129,950
Summary Pay Range Expert Level 4: $119,850-$162,150
Summary Pay Range Consultant Level 5: $145,350-$196,650
