The Opportunity
Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services team are seeking an experienced Aviation Maintenance (145 / MRO) Professional to support a world class fixed wing strike fighter as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical. The role based at RAAF Base Amberley, Queensland and supports diverse teams on exciting and rewarding programs.
Working side by side with our Australian Defence Force Customer, you will play a vital role in the maintenance of F/A-18F and EA-18G mechanical, airframe and engine systems and associated equipment.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance, modification, servicing, inspection, testing and troubleshooting of aircraft systems, associated components and associated equipment within the scope of their applicable trade, qualifications, training, competency and Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO) authorisation(s)
- Completion of assigned tasks by undertaking a variety of trade level activities, requiring the application of post trade qualifications and / or experience in the relevant trade category in accordance with approved processes and procedures
- Ensuring compliance to 145 Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE)
- Support the MRO Team to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks to achieve successful production of serviceable aircraft
- Provide direction and instructions to subordinate technicians to assist in the development of their pathway to success
Accountabilities
- Reporting to the assigned Maintenance Operations Manager
- Liaising with Boeing, Commonwealth and other Industry teams involved in maintenance operations at Amberley
- A high level of verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
Experience / Qualifications
- Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical)
- Hold a DASR Part 66 Military Aircraft Maintenance Licence (MAML) or the ability to obtain
- Be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of Aviation Quality Assurance (QA) procedures and the DASR 145 Aircraft Maintenance Regulatory Framework
- Applicants must be an Australian Citizen
- Possess an Australian NV1 Defence security clearance or the ability to obtain
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience on F/A-18 E/F or EA-18G as a maintenance certifier / trade supervisor
- Be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety procedures
- Prior supervisory or leadership training
- Have a working knowledge of computer based maintenance management systems including the Defence Protected Network, CAMM2 and AME
- Hold a C class drivers licence
