What Youll Get to DoReporting directly to the Base Engineer and taking direction from the on-shift Crew Chief, an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) maintains, services, inspects, tests, and undertakes fault diagnosis of airframe, engine (including propellers and rotors) and electrical systems, components, and accessories on aircraft. Follow all procedures necessary for maintenance or repairs to the aircraft and equipmentEnsure all work carried out is properly documented in accordance with the Procedures manualProvide the appropriate ACA release as requiredMust always comply with all safety regulationsMaintain all Calm Air assigned training required within job roleEnsure that all items of work are listed, recorded, and signed out on the appropriate work cardPerform work procedures, while ensuring that approved methods and materials are used in a safe, efficient, and economical mannerPerform sheet metal activities on various aircraft and project undertaken at Calm Air FacilitiesTravel to remote locations as needed to perform repairs in the fieldMaintain a clean and safe work environmentOther duties as assignedHours of WorkShift work is required and may include mornings/afternoons, evenings, and weekendsSkills & Experience We Value High school diploma or general education degree (GED) an assetCandidates must be graduates of an accredited aviation programMust provide proof of a valid Transport Canada issued AME – M2 LicenseEndorsements on ATR, Boeing, Airbus considered an assetBasic Computer skills (word, excel, office)Knowledge of an airline’s operations an assetAbility to prioritize tasksMust be able to work independently or in a team settingAbility to work efficiently and accurately under pressurePossess a valid driver’s licenseAbility to lift 75lbsTravel requiredMust be able to obtain and maintain an Enhanced Security Clearance qualificationInuktitut language considered an assetPreference given to Inuit Land Claims Beneficiaries
