Description:Conduct F-35 and ADP aircraft performance analyses for both low and high-speed maneuvers. Analyze all phases of aircraft performance including mission performance, combat performance, and basing performance. Improve aircraft performance methods through digital transformation and maintaining and improving Python scrips. Create new Python scripts which may include a graphical user interface and run legacy analysis methods. Update and improve the Interactive Performance Calculator or aircraft calculator using Python and C. Communicate results to managers, executives and JPO customers. This position may require travel to a government flight test facility. Candidates should understand aircraft performance methods and analysis capabilities. Good oral and written communication skills are required. Experience with Microsoft Office, Windows, Office, and programming skills is desirable. We make the air vehicle fly and controllable by calculating the performance of the aircraft and what kind of flaps it needs to maneuver in the sky.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Aircraft Performance Engineer you will be responsible Your responsibilities will include:

o Work with Air Vehicle teams to build mass properties, propulsion, landing gear and aerodynamics databases.
o Calculate aircraft performance using in-house methods that are written in Fortran, C/C++, C, VBA and Python.
o Finalize the aircraft performance results and clearly communicate them to the customer

Expertise in Fortran, C/C++, C, VBA and Python will help digitally transform our tools for the better. Engineers in the Aircraft Performance / Stability and Control team get to work on some of the most advanced aircraft in the world for F-35 and ADP programs.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
