Position Overview
We are looking for a Associate DevOps Engineer - 3DX who is a passionate individual to continuously create and sustain the secure operating environment across the cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, GCP), reusable Infrastructure as Code libraries for tenant use, and delivery of automation patterns to enable Agile DevOps for our PLM Solution Deployments.
Position Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will perform the following duties:
• Utilize various Infrastructure as Code tools like AWS CloudFormation/Terraform and Ansible to automate the provisioning and management of application infrastructure.
• Develop and manage Ansible playbooks, roles and modules with a focus on maintaining infrastructure without configuration risks.
• Design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps/Jenkins/Gitlab for automated build, test, and deployment processes.
• Implement and manage containerized applications using Docker and orchestration tools like Amazon EKS/ECS/OpenShift.
• Troubleshoot various application issues and finetune application performance while collaborating with various stakeholders.
• Develop scripts and automation solutions using languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell to streamline operational tasks.
• Set up and maintain monitoring and logging solutions (e.g., Amazon CloudWatch, ELK stack) to ensure the availability, performance, and security of applications.
• Implement and enforce security best practices, working closely with the security team to secure environments and applications.
• Work closely with development teams to understand application requirements and ensure seamless integration of AWS services.
• Implement and manage backup and recovery solutions for various infrastructure resources, ensuring data integrity and availability.
• Monitor and optimize AWS costs by implementing cost-effective solutions and analyzing resource utilization.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
• 4-8 years of Experience in the following aspects:
• Adept level expertise in managing Linux systems.
• Strong scripting and coding skills (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Experience working with core AWS services like EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM.
• Experience working with distributed version control systems (GIT).
• Proven experience in DevOps or a related role with a focus on AWS.
• Hands-on experience in managing and maintaining large enterprise infrastructure.
• Experience with infrastructure and application performance monitoring.
• Must be able to work collaboratively with multi-functional teams within Boeing and external partners.
• Develop and maintain relationships / partnerships with customers, collaborators, peers, and partners to develop collaborative plans and complete projects.
• Proactively seek information and direction to successfully complete the statement of work.
• Must be flexible, with a high tolerance for organizational complexity and ability to work with team members across different cultures and time-zones
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or higher is preferred but not required
• Knowledge of AWS security services and best practices.
• Familiarity with AWS networking and virtual private cloud (VPC) configurations.
• Experience working with both Agile and Scaled Agile development methodologies.
• Familiarity with Azure Boards for planning, tracking and managing work across the software development life cycle.
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKAD) certification or any other Docker/Kubernetes related certification.
• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or any operations relevant AWS certifications.
• Candidate must be a self-starter with a positive attitude, high ethics, and a track record of working successfully under pressure in a time-constrained environment.
• Demonstrate strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Be fluent in written and spoken English and have high degree of proficiency with MS Office tools to prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, proposals, and Statements of Work.
Typical Education & Experience:
• Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5+ years related work experience or master’s degree with 4+ years of experience with an equivalent combination of education and experience in AWS focused DevOps roles.
