The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Associate Environmental Engineer to join the Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) team in Philadelphia, PA.

As a member of the Philadelphia environmental engineering team, you will work across multiple programs (e.g. air, solid and hazardous waste, Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures (SPCC), stormwater, industrial wastewater and tanks/sumps). Your field work across the site will help ensure regulatory compliance, reduce risk, and support sustainability efforts. Activities may include water sampling and analysis, oversight of waste handling, developing written procedures, data collection, and validating operational controls. You’ll work on-site with cross-functional teams from EHS and other groups to solve problems. Also, in this role you will be able to collaborate with environmental management colleagues from across The Boeing Company as we work to make a difference.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports the development, implementation and monitoring of environmental management systems, processes and programs

  • Works with others to assess the impact of emerging environmental issues, legislation and regulations on company operations

  • Supports site interface with relevant regulatory agencies

This position is expected to be 100 onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. Potential opportunities for hybrid work to be determined.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required.  “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • 1+ years of experience with environmental engineering over multiple media types (chemical, air, waste water, storm water, hazardous waste etc.)

  • 1+ years of experience with environmental compliance, environmental programs, spill procedures, air quality, and water quality

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, environmental science, chemistry, geology, or environmental management

  • 1+ years of experience interacting with internal and external stakeholders

  • Experience with environmental compliance and regulations

  • Environmental Permitting Experience

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range: $78,200 – $105,800
