The Boeing Company is looking for an Associate Software Quality Engineer to join the Software Quality team located in Richardson, Texas. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.
Our team of highly-motivated, customer-focused SQEs partner with integrated program teams to help develop and maintain a culture of first-time quality throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC). As a member of this team, you have the autonomy and responsibility to work with programs to assure the right process for developing, controlling, and verifying software products is planned and complied with, and effectively improving the quality of our software products provided by suppliers.
The selected candidate will partner with various Software Engineering teams to support the continued development of the P-8 program Advanced Airborne Sensor Software and Training Sustainment efforts. A successful candidate will collaborate with peers within the Software Engineering enterprise to assure first-time Quality and should have a broad background in software development practices, tools, and processes. Experience with Agile and knowledge of quality standards (e.g. AS9115) is strongly preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills, are crucial for success.
Position Responsibilities:
Defines and maintains program level software quality engineering processes, resources, and infrastructure
Uses established criteria to review, comment and recommend approval of software life cycle documents and program products
Conducts audits of software engineering processes and associated support functions
Assists in configuration management activities such as software product release and change control boards
Assists with review of deviations and waivers to the software baseline
Improves products and processes and manages risk
Monitors or witnesses test activity to established test plans and procedures
Assists with verification of test results to performance requirements
Uses established procedures and methods to perform final reconciliation of simple software data products
Assists in verifying the acceptability of segments of the suppliers software quality systems and programs
Identifies non-conformances and issues corrective actions
Reviews and approves corrective and preventive action plans
Assists in verification of effectiveness of corrective and preventive action plans
Works under general supervision
This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires an active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Bachelor of Science from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, or other technical degree
2+ years of experience with the Software Development lifecycle (including Requirements, Design, Code, Integration & Test)
1+ years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
Experience using Agile software development practices
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
4+ years of experience with the Software Development lifecycle (including Requirements, Design, Code, Integration & Test)
3+ years of software quality engineering applied experience including knowledge of MIL-STD-882E, DO-178 and/or AS9115
Experience with DevSecOps and associated tools
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range for Associate: $78,200.00 - $105,800.00.
