Lockheed Martin is seeking Systems Engineers with experience in the aircraft avionics domain to join our Sikorsky Rotary Systems & Sciences team. Supporting the Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) operating unit. As a Systems Engineer in RMS, you will be an integral part of the technical execution of RMSs broad portfolio of platforms and programs.

In this position, you will be given the opportunity to leverage your experience in the development and integration of avionics systems on teams engaged in the design of complex military systems.

As a member of our Mission Systems Engineering team, this position will require engagement in all technical aspects of the program lifecycle. Including but not limited to: development / decomposition of requirements, design / development of the technical baseline and overall system architecture. Development of technical plans driving the day-to-day technical operations of the program, implementation of the technical solution, and validation/verification against customer expectations.

The selected candidate will engage other Systems Engineers in a broader understanding of avionics integration and assist them in developing Systems Engineering work products. Including: System Specifications, Logically Derived and Linked Requirements, Interface Definitions, System Diagrams, Trade Studies, and Detailed Designs.

This systems engineer will work in a team environment and must be able to optimally communicate and collaborate with others including Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Manufacturing, Program Management, Suppliers and Customers.

Familiarity with a broad array of key rotary wing mission capabilities is required and experience with Model Based Engineering principles / practices is desired.

Job Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an emerging authority.

Broad systems engineering experience (e.g. system architecture and design, systems documentation, system requirements, CONOPS, systems verification)

Experience developing, deriving, and allocating tiered Systems Engineering requirements in Aerospace & Defense applications

Understanding of a broad set of common aircraft technologies and interfaces (e.g. sensors, mission systems, software designs, human machine interfaces, Ethernet, 1553)

Proven ability to effectively lead and collaborate in a team environment

Strong written, communication, and presentation skills

Advanced proficiency in MS Office Products

Must have the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance
Desired Skills:
Experience with architecture frameworks such as DODAF, MODAF or other

Experience modeling complex systems in system modeling tools (eg. Rhapsody, Enterprise Architect, MagicDraw) and SysML Certification (OMG Certified Systems Model Professional (OCSMP) (or other equivalent))

Knowledge of product lines and creating variations of product baselines within engineering toolsets

Experience with agile development.

Experience working in teams with both local and virtual team members
