ABOUT US
Since 1978 Air Inuit has been providing scheduled, charter, cargo, and emergency air transportation services in Nunavik and beyond, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Collectively owned by the Inuit of Nunavik, through the Makivvik Corporation, the airline operates a fleet of over 35 aircraft ranging from a De Havilland Twin Otter 300 Series to a Boeing 737 200, 300 and 800 and employs over 1000 employees in one of the most challenging flight environments.

ROLE OVERVIEW
Oversee and coordinate the base maintenance operations, ensuring that all daily maintenance activities are executed in strict compliance with aviation safety standards, regulatory requirements, and Air Inuit’s operational procedures. The position plays a critical role in maintaining aircraft airworthiness, supporting operational readiness, and upholding the integrity of maintenance practices. Through effective planning, supervision, and technical guidance, the incumbent ensures that all maintenance personnel operate within a culture of safety, precision, and accountability.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support and guide engineers and apprentices in maintenance procedures, ensuring the use of approved methods and materials.
- Perform aircraft maintenance in line with inspection instructions, Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, and other certified technical documentation.
- Ensure all maintenance tasks are properly documented and signed off using the correct Maintenance Control forms.
- Uphold Air Inuit’s maintenance standards and policies, and contribute to personnel evaluations when required.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of base facilities including shops, stores, and technical libraries.
- Take initiative in fulfilling any other tasks essential to company operations.
- Execute additional duties as assigned by the Production Manager.
WHAT WILL MAKE YOU AN IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Valid M1 & M2 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license with at least 5 years of experience. Preference will be given to candidates holding the following endorsements: B737-200/300/400/500/700/800/900, DHC8, DHC6 & B300 endorsements are assets.
- 5 years of supervisory experience leading technical teams.
- Completion of the qualifying exam for AMO certification privileges.
- Strong familiarity with MPM, MCM, aircraft operation specifications, and maintenance manuals.
- Solid understanding of the Aeronautics Act, Canadian Aviation Regulations, and applicable standards.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Solution-oriented and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Willingness to work in remote locations and adapt to varying weather conditions.
COMPENSATION
- Salary and benefits are determined in accordance with the corporate policy.
- Entry hourly salary - $48.95
WORKING CONDITIONS
- When traveling to a northern base: Accommodations, meals, work uniforms and travel between Montreal and work are provided.
- 3 weeks on followed by 3 weeks off rotation on a nightshift schedule.

- External candidates who hold an endorsement on Dash 8 100/300 and/or Boeing 737 endorsement are eligible for a one-time signing bonus of CAD 5,000 for each of these endorsements. This signing bonus is taxable, payable after 6 months of continuous service.
