The Product Support Engineer (PSE) role is responsible for translating the GE and/or engine model requirements to an external communication that is clear and transparent, keeping the customer at the forefront and ensuring they have the most relevant information to keep their fleet safe and operational. As a PSE, you will also be the voice of the customer in GE internal meetings by collecting field data (leading indicator) to demonstrate how the design is or is not meeting the technical/durability requirements.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support the CFM56 flying fleet and MRO network through prompt responses to Aircraft on Ground (AOG), work stoppages, and other technical inquiries.
  • Assist with Customer Teams to support return-to-service and/or event investigation.
  • Analyze fleet and shop data for early identification of leading indicators or other important fleet trends.
  • Support of installed base including activities such as customer issue resolution, fleet issues, service bulletin implementation, Monitoring & Diagnostics, fleet configuration. Maintenance of fleet data, outage management.
  • Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
  • Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Engineering degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Significant experience in the Engineering/Technology & Fleet Management
