How youll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities) Operations Analytics Co-ops work with analytics professionals in the operation supporting one of the following functions or departments: Integrated Operations Planning (IOP) – optimizing aircraft schedule and resource availability to maintain peak on-time performance Operations Digital & Decision Science (ODDS) – developing decision science tools and digital product solutionsCorporate Safety, Security & Compliance (CSSC) – Supporting the safety and security of the airline and its employeesAirport Customer Service (ACS) – improving airport processes and managing performanceCrew – improving Pilot and Flight Attendant operations and performance efficiencyDelta Connection (DC) – supporting end to end analytics and cross-divisional operational initiatives and improvements for the operation of Delta’s regional airlinesFlight Operations (FOP) – managing aircraft and gate to gate operations and performanceOnboard Services (OBS) – optimizing process, supply, and inventory of inflight products and servicesIn-Flight Services (IFS) – enhancing customer onboard experience and catering operations and performanceOperations & Customer Center (OCC) – tracking on-time flight metrics, weather, day-of flight analysesCentral – managing centralized operations and competitive performance analysesThough individual responsibilities will vary by function or department, some common work responsibilities are listed below:Measure current operational performance and/or customer satisfactionIdentify optimization opportunities to reduce injuries and security line wait timesResearch, analyze, and interpret operational dataDevelop new reports and dashboards and automate existing onesPerform reliability/root-cause analysis for parts and maintenanceEvaluate and provide recommendations for improvement of key operational metrics including aircraft time at gate, gating efficiency, and feasibility of aircraft schedulesSeek operational improvements to reduce aircraft taxi time and flight timeMaintain, run and improve staffing models to support airport operationsProvide strategic and operational support and develop performance metrics and goalsDevelop success factors and statistical evaluations of new procedures
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications) Students are required to complete three alternating semesters of work and school; all rotations must be completed before the students graduation. Note: Students are not permitted to work part-time hours and should refrain from taking classes and working as a co-op in the same semester. The full-time work schedule for this role, while remaining actively enrolled in an approved undergraduate curriculum, is as follows:Summer 2026Spring 2027Fall 2027* Please ensure that this alternating semester rotation works with your university, curriculum, and/or academic advisor before applying.Enrolled in an Undergraduate program in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Analytics, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, or similar 4-year degree programAvailable for three alternating semesters for full-time workAbility to report in-person to Delta’s World Headquarters (Atlanta, GA) or willing to relocate each semester (housing stipends will be provided to students who meet the minimum criteria)Team oriented and highly supportive of continuous improvement methodologiesStrong organizational, project management, and verbal/written communication skills are essentialProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools and conceptsProficiency in Python, SQL or similar database query tool knowledge and Macro programming is strongly preferredConsistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
