Join a team dedicated to designing and producing armored combat and support vehicles. As a prime mover in ground force capabilities, this firm provides innovative solutions that ensure the safety and effectiveness of military personnel worldwide, focusing on durability, mobility, and performance.
Responsibilities:
- Perform system and subsystem-level CFD simulations to support vehicle design optimization
- Execute full-system thermal simulations to validate cooling performance and thermal management requirements
- Serve as a technical lead, coordinating CFD and thermal design efforts across multiple GDLS platforms
- Support test plan development and execution strategies
- Conduct validation and correlation studies comparing CFD results to physical test data
- Perform analysis using ANSA (pre-processing) and ANSYS Fluent (CFD solver)
- Develop and improve simulation methodologies, workflows, and toolsets
- Collaborate closely with design engineers and cross-functional teams throughout development
- Provide technical recommendations, project updates, and analysis insights
- Prepare technical reports in accordance with internal standards
- Perform additional related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 6–10 years of relevant CFD / thermal analysis experience
- Fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer
- CFD modeling and simulation for vehicle thermal performance
- ANSA (model preparation)
- ANSYS Fluent (CFD analysis)
- Windows and Linux/Unix environments
- Vehicle design optimization using CFD
- Delivering analysis on schedule and within budget with minimal oversight
- Microsoft Office (including Teams)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Tools & Technologies:
- Teamcenter, Creo, NX, VisMockup
- Optimization tools (Isight, HEEDS)
- MATLAB / Simulink
- AI/ML tools for engineering or data analysis
- Industry Experience:
- Ground combat vehicle or military vehicle programs
- Clearance: Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in/around military vehicles
- Pass ASR (Anthropometric Size Requirement)
- Work Environment:
- Full-time on-site (Sterling Heights, MI)
- Occasional support in Warren and Troy locations
