Contract Position
Design and program electronic control panels for automated manufacturing systems used in aerospace and defense applications. This is a hands-on role involving PLC/HMI programming, electrical design, and test equipment development.
Responsibilities:
Design and program automated control systems, including PLC and HMI development.
Develop electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and machine control schemes.
Program PC-based applications for testing and automation using Visual Studio, VB.Net, or National Instruments (NI) tools.
Create electronic test equipment designs, including PCB schematics and layouts.
Troubleshoot complex systems using oscilloscopes, DMMs, and other diagnostic tools.
Integrate communication protocols and develop control system safety mechanisms.
Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship required due to the nature of the work.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience—OR—High School Diploma/GED with 12+ years of directly related experience.
PLC Ladder Logic programming (preferably in Productivity Suite).
HMI development experience (preferably in C-More).
PC-based automation software experience using Visual Studio, VB.Net, or NI Measurement Studio/NI-DAQ.
Electrical design experience for control panels, including:
Electronic design of test equipment including PCB layout/schematics.
Advanced troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Serial Communications
Collaborative Robot (Cobot) programming (e.g., Universal Robots)
Vision systems (Cognex, Keyence)
Pneumatic or actuator controls design
Control panel/enclosure build experience
Extensive CAD experience
Understanding of analog and digital signal types
