Description:Small Combatants & Ship Systems (SCSS) market segment Chief Engineer organization is seeking Controls Automation and Autonomy Engineering Project Management Portfolio Lead with responsibilities for providing technical expertise and leadership across the portfolio of programs spanning DDG, LHA, LCS, MMSC, USV platforms. This role will partner with the Senior Program Manager of the Controls Automation and Autonomy portfolio on program execution and capture. Lead/coordinate/monitor/review all Engineering & Technology responsibilities and technical execution across the portfolio programs. This includes facilitating matrixed Engineering & Technology, Program Office, Finance/Contracts, and Lifecycle resources and support as required. Role will include considerable internal and external customer interaction and visibility to include various US Navy and shipyard customers.

Provide technical expertise/support for the conduct of any/all formal program review milestones, processes and methodologies (SFR, PDR, CDR, IPR, SWIR, etc) for the programs. Ensures requirements baseline is documented, tracked, maintained, and verified. Ensures establishment and tracking of key Technical Performance Measures (TPM). Provides timely and accurate projections of engineering resource requirements. Works with PM to ensure GRID is up to date. Leverages proven processes, lessons learned, and best practices from other parts of business or industry. In concert with the Market Segment Chief Engineer, ensures program plans and technical baselines are consistent with Program Control processes and Modern Engineering Practices.

Provide coordination/leadership for system and software engineering tasking as assigned by the SCSS Chief Engineer; e.g., required special studies, system engineering performance trades/analysis, staffing projections/analysis, or cost proposal development.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in an engineering/technical discipline from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 20 years or more of professional experience; or 18 years with a related Masters, or 15 years with a related PhD degree. Viewed as the most senior authority in discipline.
• Candidate must have extensive Software Project Management experience in an EPM role in the design and integration of large scale, complex systems, and product lines.
• Candidate must be well versed in engineering processes including top-down design starting from high level system requirements through allocation to system elements to equipment, computer programs, and across organizations (both Lockheed Martin and subcontractors) responsible for implementation of these processes.
• Experience in systems engineering, software engineering, systems integration and test, and full engineering life cycle
• Expertise in product line integration at different levels is required. Candidate must be well versed in computer program development and integration process, as well as a working knowledge of the Engineering & Technology functional organizations.
• Solid understanding of program, functional, and process metrics
• Knowledge of waterfall and agile standards that govern software development and integration processes is essential.
• Candidate should be experienced in working in a matrixed product team organization to accomplish tasks.
• Candidate should have superior communication skills and ability to motivate and influence individuals outside his/her organizational boundaries in order to accomplish wider organizational goals.
• Candidate should be familiar with the Engineering & Technology Cost Estimating process and the ability to respond to SC&SS program office as required.
• Candidate should be comfortable with presenting to the customer and all levels of internal and external senior management.
• Candidate must be willing to travel between LM-IWSS (Moorestown) and the Washington, DC area as required to execute customer-based program and status reviews.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
