CUSTOMER NETWORK INTEGRATION ENGINEER (STARLINK)

Starlink Enterprise and Government Engineering is a small team responsible for providing an excellent technical experience to the largest and most strategic Starlink customers. As a motivated, collaborative, data-driven engineer, you will leverage the resources of the broader Starlink engineering organization to define, build, and deploy key features, capabilities, and products driven by enterprise customer needs.

To succeed in this role, you must be a technically excellent and highly detail-oriented interdisciplinary problem solver. You must be a self-starter and have a passion for making things work in high-impact situations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly support the largest and most strategic Starlink customers to ensure that the Starlink product meets technical expectations.
  • Define and implement technical product requirements and capabilities to address enterprise and government customer needs.
  • Streamline integration of enterprise customer networks with Starlink by implementing processes and tools to support installation, setup and troubleshooting.
  • Provide technical subject matter expertise during pre-sales customer interactions.
  • Explore new ways Starlink can provide value to enterprise and government customers.
  • Lead technical discussions and integration efforts with 3rd party partners and system integrators.
Job Requirements:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or STEM discipline
  • Professional experience in applications engineering, product management, technical project management, or a technical customer-facing role with focus on building, deploying, and supporting network solutions

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Background in network engineering and deploying network technologies in customer environments including:
    • Understanding of core networking concepts from layer 1 through layer 3 and network protocols such as IPv4, IPv6, DHCP, NAT, NTP, IPsec VPN, etc.
    • Knowledge of routing technologies (such as MPLS, SD-WAN, SATCOM, etc) and WAN architectures
    • Understanding of backhaul, cloud, and ISP networking technologies such as dedicated interconnects, peering, BGP, etc
  • Ability to perform network troubleshooting including analyzing customer network captures and Starlink telemetry information to root cause network integration issues
  • Experience in software engineering or experience directly working with software engineering teams
  • Experience at an early-stage technology startup or program that scaled rapidly

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be available to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to support critical milestones or operations shifts
  • Must be willing to travel to other SpaceX offices, vendors, partners, and customers as necessary

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range:
Network Operations Engineer/Level I: $100,000 - $120,000.00/per year
Network Operations Engineer/Level II: $115,000.00 - $135,000.00/per year

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
