Join an agile, self-driven team of engineers supporting the development and sustainment of embedded cyber software for a family of advanced ground combat vehicles. This role is central to the C5ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance) mission and supports end-to-end cybersecurity architecture, compliance, and implementation across vehicle platforms.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop embedded software for secure, mission-critical systems using C, C++, C, Java, or Rust.
Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical principles to real-time software on Security Enhanced Linux or VxWorks platforms.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define and evaluate hardware/software interfaces and operational performance.
Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle—from requirements analysis through to integration, testing, and sustainment.
Develop and maintain scripts, tools, and XML files to automate configuration validation and system setup.
Implement cybersecurity measures and configuration controls to maintain software in accordance with accreditation standards.
Develop protocol transformation mechanisms for interoperability across secure networks and domains.
Design and configure firewalls and other security controls for embedded systems.
Conduct and contribute to peer reviews, defect tracking, and solution assessments.
Support and lead trade studies related to Cyber test design, tooling, performance, and system-level impacts.
Generate, review, and validate design milestone artifacts and CDRLs to ensure technical and contractual compliance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related STEM field (ABET-accredited).
Active DoD Secret clearance or higher is mandatory.
Proficiency in embedded software development, particularly using C/C++/C/Java/Rust.
Experience with Linux or VxWorks operating systems, including kernel-level or low-level programming.
Knowledge of board support packages (BSPs) and hardware-software integration.
Skilled in device driver development, reverse engineering, and software analysis techniques.
Understanding of cybersecurity principles and hands-on experience with firewall integration for embedded systems.
Familiarity with network protocols such as TCP/IP, UART, SPI, and I2C.
Experience across the software development lifecycle including architecture, object-oriented development, code/unit testing, and system integration.
Knowledge of development tools including IDEs, version control systems, defect tracking systems, scripting, and CI/CD pipelines.
Ability to interpret customer-level requirements and decompose into technical specifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with cybersecurity certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH).
Familiarity with line-replaceable units (LRUs) and hardware troubleshooting.
Background in military, defense, or automotive embedded systems.
Experience with interoperability and multi-domain communications across secure environments.
