Summary

The Data Fabric Engineer III will work with the leader of the Data Engineering team to provide consolidated data management environment to internal and external customers. The Data Fabric Engineer will provide solutions that automates the integration of disparate data sources and technologies in both on-premises and cloud environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the leader for data engineering and analytics group in leading key data initiatives
  • Work with customers and internal stakeholders to develop Enterprise Data Operating Models
  • Work with customers and internal stakeholders to develop Governance implementation plans
  • Assume oversight for data accuracy, completeness, consistency, integrity, timeliness, conformity, and validity within the established data governance policies.
  • Coordinate all master data activities with other organizational Governance teams, working within established protocols and policies.
  • Develop data standards that align with enterprise requirements and priorities.
  • Maintain appropriate data documentation, including master data management, data quality, report inventory, enterprise data definitions, policies & procedures, etc.
  • Collect, summarize, and analyze data from multiple sources and organize them to provide design for distributed software services and solutions that are engineered for large scale, high performance, and high reliability
  • Create self-service experiences and provide data-driven insight for various stakeholders (e.g., dashboards, Power BI, monitoring and/or alerting).
  • Effectively Interface with customer personnel at varying organizational levels
  • Effectively report status on tasks and assignments and to support business development team in the production of winning proposals

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • MS or advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math, Statistics, Engineering, a related field, or practical experience is required.
  • Understanding of Semantic Layer Architectures to refine and optimize the technical environment for agility and performance.
  • 5+ years of experience applying statistics or machine learning techniques development and design working on high availability systems.
  • Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, C/C++, C, Python, JavaScript, R, Data Warehouse, and reporting frameworks, relational or NoSQL database experience, test automation.
  • Candidates are expected to be hypothesis driven with passion for data and should be experienced in making data-driven business decisions.
  • Candidates must be comfortable in manipulating and analyzing complex, high dimensional data from varying sources to solve complex/ambiguous problems and should be able to communicate complex ideas/concepts in a simpler form to leadership or to partner teams/engineers.
  • Must be able to perform effectively as part of a project "team"
  • Must be self-motivated and expected to work independently with minimal supervision

Desired Skills

  • Ability to translate highly technical concepts into actionable plans.
  • Ability to drive hands on proof of concepts to collect data and facts.
  • Experience with Data Management tools
  • Experience designing and developing data governance policies and standards
  • Advanced experience and skills using data analytics tools and products
  • Technical experience querying and reporting data using SQL.
  • Experience with Data Warehousing modeling and use cases
  • Highly organized with excellent project management skills
  • Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives
  • The ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with customers

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Agile Development
  • Experience using Git or other source code management system
  • Security clearance

Security Responsibilities

Must complywith all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • May be required to sit down for long lengths of time.
  • May be required to climb stairs.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
