The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) organization is seeking a Design Build Flight Test Engineering Multi-Skill Manager to join our team in Tukwila, WA. The selected candidate will be responsible for daily management and oversight of multiple engineering disciplines to support Flight Test program activities.  This role will lead employees through program integration activities that requires coordination with program Integrated Product Teams (IPT), suppliers and BT&E teams, such as Test Program Managers (TPM), Flight Test Analysis, Instrumentation and Operations, Supply Chain and Manufacturing.

This position will require travel 10 of the time domestically and internationally.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead employees performing engineering and technical activities in areas of mechanical design, stress analysis, manufacturing engineering and liaison to support throughout a test program
  • Responsible for engineering and fabrication work placement with global partners and suppliers
  • Acquire resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Manage, develop and motivate employees
  • Develop estimates, resource forecasts, program performance metrics
  • Manage budget, schedule, risks & opportunities associated with design/build test program statement of work
  • Provide management oversight in the factory, field and a supplier sites during build phase
  • Lead employees that develop process improvements, execute project and process plans, improve and implements policies and procedures

This position is expected to be 100 onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors Degree or higher in Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role (i.e., manager, project manager, team lead, etc.)
  • 3+ years of proven multi-function, multi-site project management experience
  • Willing and able to travel 10 of the time domestically and internationally

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience with design and manufacturing engineering, manufacturing planning, assembly integration and test, including industrial engineering concepts
  • 1+ years of experience with Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • 1+ years of experience with managing/maintaining Production Engineering processes and tools
  • Experience in Flight Test of commercial airplanes
  • Experience with military and/or commercial program support
  • Experience in Waterfall project management best practices

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range: $138,550 – $187,450
