Job Description:

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a Director of Industrial Engineering FAL A320 to join our  A320 Final Assembly Line based in Mobile, AL.

The Director of Industrial Engineering is responsible for managing and leading all aspects of industrial engineering for the FAL A320 Mobile. This position has to continuously evaluate the current build plan with the operations team to ensure the most efficient process is being used and that it is in accordance with the Airbus Operating System (AOS). As part of the A320 Leadership Team, the Director of Industrial Engineering must develop and deploy processes to increase production efficiency and improve Aircraft assembly processes. This position must also work closely with the A320 VSM senior management to prepare all operational milestones (rate change) and define business strategy in order to achieve company goals. The Director of  Industrial Engineering is the focal point between the European Project Team and the Mobile FAL for all new Product Evolution Projects (PEP), ensuring the FAL is ready for the addition. All new areas are reviewed to ensure correct tooling, work orders and materials are available when production is scheduled to start.

Your challenges:

 

       Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the industrial engineering department, including hiring, training, and mentoring staff members. Develop and implement strategic plans, objectives, and goals for the industrial engineering department in alignment with the company&39;s overall business objectives.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, production, quality, and supply chain, to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization. Analyze existing manufacturing processes and systems to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.

  • Develop and implement innovative solutions and best practices to optimize production processes, reduce cycle times, and improve overall operational efficiency. Lead projects to implement new technologies, equipment, and methodologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities and meet production goals.

  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, quality standards, and safety protocols in all industrial engineering activities.

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to cross-functional teams to foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. As the Director of Industrial Engineering, you will represent the A320 Final Assembly Line in all Industrial projects at a corporate level  (executive). 

  • In collaboration with the Airbus site Leaders, define short and long term strategies/planning which will improve the production  capacity (processes, resources and tools). 

  • Responsible for launching appropriate actions and taking critical decisions to optimize the aircraft assembly process.

  • Supports A320 Operation to achieve delivery targets by providing a high level of expertise (KPI, data analysis, simulation) Manages all Process Performance Engineers (PPE) building and continuously updates the sequence of the total build. 

  • Champions for Standard Line Balancing Brick in AOS FAL is progressing in a positive direction. Manages calculations of all work packages ensuring the correct Standard Time Values (STV) are used.

  •  Responsible for managing the Industrial Engineering department&39;s cost center. Serves as the local focal point for PEP projects and ensures correct introduction of first builds.

  • Manages Aircraft MOD Processes in collaboration with the central department. Serves as the focal point for the AVL2 tool in Mobile.

  • Proficiency in English is required, with additional proficiency in a second language (such as French or German) considered advantageous.

  • Knowledge of A320 SAP system. 

  • Familiarity with industrial planning tools. (AVL2..)

  • Expertise in Microsoft Office suite.
