A new position for a Certification Qualification Engineer (CQE) for Super Puma activities is opened within Airbus Helicopters in Marignane. In this position, you will integrate the Initial Airworthiness Department of Airbus Helicopters, in the Super Puma CQE team. You will lead certification & qualification activities for onboard electronic systems and their integration on the aircraft. Such systems include for example cockpit displays, communication & navigation means, radars, connectivity means, armaments control... as many new needs that our customers are requiring for a modern aircraft.

The mission of the Certification & Qualification Engineer is mainly to lead the compliance demonstration to the applicable airworthiness requirements (FAR29/JAR29/CS29) for each new design. It can also include participation to activities of safe flight capability demonstration of the helicopters when performing certification flight tests.

The electronic equipments are connected to many other systems on the aircraft and impacted by several disciplines. This results in a transverse position, with many interfaces internally to Airbus Helicopters, but also with Aviation Authorities (civil EASA, military DGA). The position is thus proposing a good overview on Super Puma product  and Airbus Helicopters organization.

You will have to understand all the aspects of each project (technical content, configuration) in order to be able to establish the related certification program (CP). This consists in the identification of all FAR29/JAR29/CS29 affected requirements and proposed Means of Compliance. As CQE you have the full responsibility to establish a certification strategy, to harmonize it with all relevant Certification Verification Engineers and to approve modification under AH privileges. You are also the main interface towards EASA and / or DGA.

Your challenge
Your main responsibilities will include:

Project Management:
• Planning and piloting of certification / qualification activities in line with contracts needs
• Risk identification and mitigation
• Follow-up and reporting on compliance demonstration activities progress, fixing hard points, and ensuring on-time completion of the activities,
• Ensuring interface with chief engineering

Certification/Qualification activities:
• Identification and definition of the applicable Certification basis,
• Definition of Certification logic, establishing corresponding Plan,
• Leading the certification activities: reviewing and releasing all compliance documents, consolidating the results of the compliance demonstration and declaring compliance at helicopter level,
• Establishing Flight Conditions Approval files,
• Approving design changes and flight conditions under DOA privilege ,

Your profile
You will have the following skills and experience:
• Educated to a 5 years’ degree level (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of overall Engineering experience
• 1 to 3 years of experience in the certification of helicopters as CVE/CQE or as System Design Responsible in aeronautic electronic/avionic systems
• Rigor and structured mind

• Advanced level of French and English

This position requires a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
