The Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) Design Build Flight Test Instrumentation organization is seeking a Electrical Design Engineer to support multiple platforms for Flight Test to join our team in Berkeley, MO.
In this team, a design engineer has the primary responsibility for the synthesis of requirements, creation of engineering definition with electrical schematics and drawings that define the electrical hardware required to install a flight test data system. Flight test sometimes interfaces with the production wiring and is located throughout the aircraft giving an employee a chance to get familiar with different areas of the platform. Design Build designers work the entire design cycle including support of requirement definition, layouts, coordination with mechanical designers, preliminary design review, engineering release, coordination with manufacturing engineers and suppliers, occasional shipside support, and change incorporation.
This position supports tactical aircraft programs in Saint Louis as well as Design Build teams at other sites.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Entry-Level, Associate, and Experienced Level Engineers.
Position Responsibilities:
Development of electrical design criteria from customer test objectives/specifications
Design and documentation of electrical systems, components, connections, and interfaces
Outline electrical wiring required to adapt to test articles & subassemblies
Support of lab or flight test instrumentation and data acquisition
Selection of electrical hardware (cables, connectors, shielding, terminal blocks, etc.)
Electrical hardware support during hardware inspection, check-out, and test execution
This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
Experience creating electrical schematics
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
2 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
1+ years of experience in electrical/electrical system design
1+ years of experience with an electronic design tool
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering
Experience in electrical/electrical system design
Experience with a broad range of power, signal, and instrumentation hardware used in test
Experience with test hardware control and troubleshooting
Experience with wire shop fabrication capabilities including inspection & check-out
Proficiency in AutoCAD or MentorGraphics
Typical Education/Experience:
Entry -Level (level 1)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Associate (Level 2)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Experienced (Level 3)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range Entry-Level (Level 1): $66,300 – $95,450
Summary pay range Associate (Level 2): $79,900 – $116,150
Summary pay range Experienced (Level 3): $96,050 – $139,150
