Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
· Plans and completes complex drawings of aircraft interior furnishings and secondary structural attachments.

· Plans and completes complex drawings of aircraft interior furnishings and secondary structural attachments.

· Performs engineering development, design analysis, and testing of various aircraft interior components and installations.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Must have good eye/hand coordination and must be able to work at computer terminal/screen for long periods of time.

· Must not be sensitive to noise (rivets being bucked, aircraft engines, etc.) and must be able to climb into various areas of the aircraft being completed.

· Must be able to climb stairs. (With or without a reasonable accommodation)

Basic Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· B.S. degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or Industrial Design.

· Minimum of 2 years of experience in aircraft interiors or furnishings design

· 4000 Hours of Catia

· 2000 hours of Catia V5 with at least 1000 hours of V5 electrical workbench (V5 E3D)

· EHD (Electrical Harness Design)


ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Familiar with FAR Part 25 requirements for interior completions


Other Duties

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

· Design and document aircraft interior components and installations.

· Design duties will include concept studies (human factor, aesthetics, strength to weight ratio, etc) vendor contacts, and cost studies leading to production design.

· Evaluate materials, hardware, and process specifications utilized in the aerospace industry.

· Demonstrate creative and mature engineering judgments in anticipating and solving engineering design problems.

· Mentor employees with less experience

· Work closely with staff and supervision.

· Resolve production related issues.

· Recommend design improvements.

· Perform other special assignments as directed by supervision.

· Minimum of 5 years experience in area of expertise (Avionics/Mechanical, Sound, Materials, Systems, Furniture Design, Interior Design, Cabinet Design, Structural Design, Completions & Modifications, or related)

· Minimum five years experience in aircraft mechanical installations design.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

· 1 year of aircraft experience = 1 year towards degree requirement
2000 hours of Catia use = 1 year towards degree requirement

· Minimum of five years of experience in aircraft interiors or furnishings design

· 4000 Hours of Catia (2000 hours must be V5)

· ENOVIA-VPM data management experience


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Catia CAD systems experience

· Familiar with FAR Part 25 requirements for interior completions

· Plans and completes complex drawings of aircraft interior furnishings and secondary structural attachments.

· Performs engineering development, design analysis, and testing of various aircraft interior components and installations.


ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Possess integrity, good judgement, and a cooperative attitude.

· Have a strong understanding of what is good design in his/her area of expertise.

· Strong understanding of the Company principles, Private & Corporate Jet Design Engineering experience, design concepts, and processes.

· Good computer, CAD (CATIA V5 & V6 preferred) and PLM data management skills will be important for success of this position.

· Strong leadership skills as demonstrated through program design leadership.

· Strong understanding of EASA/FAA requirements for Part 25 aircraft.

· Good understanding of structural design and stress analysis.

· Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, Project

· As Senior Engineer, will be responsible for the direction of the engineering design and development of aircraft mechanical installations, which include cockpit instrument panel layouts, avionics equipment and antenna installations, and other aircraft structural modifications, or installation of wire harness assemblies on the airframe or interior cabinetry.
