Electrical engineers at Sierra Nevada Corporation research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and improve cutting edge products and services. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. Youll conceptualize and design new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle from analog and digital electronic circuit card assemblies to fully integrated systems.

The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber. SNC’s Electromagnetic Systems (EMS) division within MST is an all-domain provider of systems to sense, affect, and protect. This position is part of an outstanding team that designs, develops, and integrates Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), Electronic Warfare (EW) Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT), Radar, and Landing systems. MSTs Mission is to provide our Nation and its partners with ruggedized products that won’t fail, innovative solutions that improve accuracy and effectiveness, and disruptive technologies that give us the battlespace advantage for a safer tomorrow.

Must-haves:

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or other related discipline and typically 2 or more years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools
  • Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • Experience with lab test equipment including signal generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, network analyzers
  • Ability to execute test procedures and document results
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance is required (Top Secret)

 

Preferred:

  • Exposure to simulations through functional and logical models and system analysis
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
  • Experience composing and analyzing Electrical Load Analysis (ELA),  circuit modeling, simulation, and analysis
  • Familiarity with design requirements related to High Intensity Radiated Field (HIRF) and Indirect Effects of Lightning (IEL)
  • Knowledge of industry-standard electrical design principles, to include, but not limited to model-based definition, electrical component selection, manufacturing, and production processes
  • Understanding of Electro Magnetic Effects (EME) to include Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI)
  • Experience in digital or analog circuit design and schematic capture
  • Understanding of the printed circuit board layout process and tools
  • Experience with airborne RF signal collection and processing systems
  • Working knowledge of networking and Linux systems
  • Experience with requirements management and system modeling tools, such as DOORS, MATLAB, Python
  • Exposure to baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of high-impact trade studies and other measures
  • Understanding of establishing and tracking key Technical Performance Measurements (TPM)
  • Driven, self-motivated, work in a team environment
