Test Engineering Electrical Engineer

The Avionics Test Engineering organization is looking for a motivated individual to be an Electrical Engineer to assist in developing complex engineering solutions. The Avionics Test Engineering organization is a global engineering organization responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of the manufacturing test solutions in support of the 5B Avionics strategic business unit as well as external customers including armed services and airlines both domestic and international. Typical test solutions include Optical, In-circuit Test, Boundary Scan, as well as COTS components such as switch systems, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies and other related equipment coupled with custom software for performing Environmental Stress Screening as well as testing circuit card assemblies and top-level products.

This candidate will perform engineering work and applied research, coordinate activities involving the design and development of electronic equipment and devices and prepare engineering sketches and product information documentation.

This is a multi-faceted role requiring versatility across a variety of tasks in a highly collaborative environment. The role requires working closely with engineers and leaders, at various locations around the globe, to ensure project success. Organizationally, the role reports to an Engineering Manager in the Avionics Test Engineering organization.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinates and facilitates the design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation of electronic apparatus, components, or circuitry for use in electronic equipment and devices, ensuing work is completed on time and established quality and budgets are achieved.

• Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks to ensure that business objectives and required specifications are met.

• Prepares engineering sketches or specifications to construct, relocate, or install equipment, facilities, products, or systems.

• Prepares documentation including confidential descriptions or specifications of proprietary hardware or software, information on product development, introduction schedules, product costs, and performance weaknesses to track progress and analyze performance.

• Performs engineering work and applied research, development, and design of new products to ensure quality standards and business objectives are met.

• Provides technical mentoring to other junior engineers.
