What does this role look like?



We are seeking a Senior Satellite System Integration and Test Engineer with an initiative to join the WILDFIRE integration and test team within Assembly, Test, and Launch Operations. Join the team that is delivering and launching multiple small satellites for the SDA Transport Layer. Become a leader in this developing market area for Lockheed Martin and incorporate digital technologies and efficient practices for a new kind of ATLO.




This role will offer you the following daily challenges:



As a Systems Integration and Test Engineer, you will:
• Perform as a Test Engineer and Certified Test Conductor (CTC) responsible for safe development and execution of test scripts and test procedures during all satellite test phases including pre- and post-environment system tests, acoustic & vibration tests, solar array & mechanism deployment tests, thermal vacuum tests, and EMI/EMC tests.
• Develop test plans, automated test scripts, procedures, GUIs, limit files, and other documentation used to conduct Space Vehicle (SV) and Subsystem level testing at the Factory and at the Launch Base.
• Review and analyze telemetry and test data, ensuring generated data accurately verifies SV functionality and meets SV requirements.
• Document test anomalies found during test execution and lead troubleshooting resolution.
• Support Program System Engineering in the development and verification of test requirements.
• Have an understanding of and perform job duties using the principles and disciplines of SV Test Engineering including policy, procedures, process discipline, operations, safety, and command media.
• Must be hands-on and willing to drive execution in a fast-paced production operations environment including travel in support of Satellite Bus Assembly & Test and Launch Operations.


This position does not support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility one of the Coolest places to work: Denver, Colorado , and be expected to work in the office.
Basic Qualifications:
To be successful, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in a related discipline: (Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field preferred) or equivalent experience/combined education.
• Experience developing and executing test procedures.
• Test Software Script development and integration experience.
• Willingness to work overtime & travel, supporting off-shifts and weekends as needed.
• You will need to be a US Citizen, and currently possess and be able to maintain a US DoD Interim SECRET or higher clearance, with the ability to obtain a TOP SECRET Clearance to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Desired Skills:
To be successful, ideally, you should also have:

• Spacecraft Electrical Test Operations experience for small satellites (<225 kg) including the test development process, test execution, supporting diverse satellite test environments, data analysis, anomaly resolution, and spacecraft / electrical ground support equipment hardware design & integration.
• Experience operating spacecraft electrical / RF test and measurement equipment including but not limited to Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies, Digital Multi Meters, Signal Generators, Signal Analyzers, Network Analyzers, or RF Power Meters.
• Test Script development using Python with experience integrating software code/databases and designing test scripts for complete automation.
• Manufacturing experience with direct hardware support in a fast paced production environment.
• Test Procedure development, execution, and troubleshooting experience using Automation Framework.
• Integration, test, and/or troubleshooting experience for Laser Communication Terminals, and/or 1000BASE-T Ethernet Networking for Space Applications.
• Excellent technical writing, planning and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to achieve consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting Linux/Windows based machines.
• Current Active DoD SECRET Security Clearance.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $82,200 - $157,500 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
