About the RolePDS Tech Commercial is seeking a highly experienced Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer (Level 4) to join our partner—a global leader in the aerospace industry. In this role, you’ll support cutting-edge defense and surveillance aircraft programs such as the US E-7A, VC-25B, and KC-46A Tanker. Your work will directly impact the performance, safety, and continued airworthiness of some of the most advanced aerospace systems in the world.
What You’ll DoDevelop and validate Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) requirements and architectures for complex aerospace systems.
Perform advanced trade studies, modeling, and simulation to optimize E3 design performance.
Ensure Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) across electronics, wiring, and structures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and manufacturing to maintain system-level E3 integrity.
Support project management with technical input, schedules, and review coordination.
Provide EMI/EMC expertise for ongoing design and modification projects.
Develop and implement test automation and analyze results for compliance with E3 requirements.
Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Engineering Physics, or Physics.
7+ years of related experience in Electromagnetic Effects (E3) engineering.
Strong understanding of RF isolation, shielding, grounding, and filtering.
Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
Willingness to travel up to 25 as needed.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred QualificationsExperience in the aerospace or defense industry.
Knowledge of MIL-STD-461/464 and DO-160 EMI/EMC standards.
Familiarity with aircraft-level E3 testing and qualification processes.
Hands-on experience with RF systems and E3 analytical tools.
Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in a relevant engineering discipline.
