Job Description:

Aftermarket & Sustainment Engineering (ASE) is looking for software/methods engineer for web development to join our team at the Pratt & Whitney India Engineering Center (IEC) in Bengaluru India.

The methods team is responsible for the development, deployment, and support of game-changing repair/maintenance software which includes the automation of both technical and business processes that will enable Pratt & Whitney to continually push the state of the art in gas turbine engine repairs and reduce the cost of maintaining our parts, components, and engines.

Responsibilities:

  • Learn and understand the needs of the engineering organization and translate those needs into clear software requirements which will drive the design, development, and testing of high-quality software for the engineering organization.
  • Setup scalable server infrastructure and databases in the Azure cloud environment.
  • Develop new user-centric pages, components, and apps.
  • Ensure feasibility and excellent user experience.
  • Opportunity for full stack development and being involved in all stages of the software development process.
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to identify continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Exhibit the ownership in terms of milestones, schedules & quality of deliverables.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (with 4+ year experience) or Advanced degree (with 3+ year experience) in Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science.
  • 3+ years of experience in full stack software development.
  • 3+ year of experience in ANY of the following: Python, Java, JavaScript, HTML, SQL, CSS.
  • Good communication skills and working as a team player.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and debug issues efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of server-side languages and frameworks such as Django (Python) / Express.js (Node) / Spring Boot (Java).
  • Expertise in building user interfaces and experiences with React / Angular / Vue.js.
  • Proficiency in working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL)
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
  • Understanding of DevOps principles and experience with deployment processes on Azure/AWS.
  • Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
