About In-Flight Performance and Operations 

One of our missions is to take Aircraft Performance into the cockpit! We are responsible for developing, generating and delivering aircraft performance models and algorithms that will be used by flight crews when they are operating the aircraft; for example Flight Management System (FMS), or other embedded functions (such as TakeOff Securing, Terrain Avoidance Warning System…).

We are also performing  In-Service Data Analysis to improve A/C Operations by creating A/C performance optimization products.

About your missions:

The open position concerns performance models and data to be implemented in Flight Management System (FMS) and other embedded performance functions (TAWS (Terrain Awareness Warning System), ROPS (Runway Overrun Prevention System), BACF (Braking Action Computation Function), TOS (Takeoff Securing), TOM (Takeoff Monitoring),...), as well as Flight Operations analyses and optimization.

The main missions for this position will be to:

  • Participate to operational performance assessment of future aircraft preliminary design delivered by Future Projects Office

  • Supporte FMS development by providing appropriate data and models for system implementation and validation (V&V)

  • Elaborate and validate Surrogate performance model for the FMS

  • Contribute to design of aircraft performance functions implemented in the FMS

  • Contribute to digital transformation, including tasks and tools automation

You may also be involved in R&T and European Project aiming at optimizing the aircraft flight operations in order to reach AIrbus Sustainability ambition.

About you

  • You bring engineering competencies in aircraft design.

  • You have relevant experience in any one of the fields of Aircraft flight physics (including performance), Flight and Cockpit Operations, Flight Management system and Aircraft systems integration.

  • You have competencies in surrogate modeling and you  show an interest in pioneering use of the latest technologies such as artificial intelligence and data science.

  • Ideally this includes a good knowledge of scripting and coding/implementation of engineering solutions into software.

  • Your positivity and motivation enthuses your teammates and stakeholders. You are open minded with high focus on team spirit and collaboration.

  • You are willing to master your responsibilities in an empowered environment.

  • You are curious, always ready to learn and keen to share your knowledge with your colleagues.

  • You enjoy taking responsibility for your ideas and making them happen. 

  • And finally of course you are degree-educated in your relevant field and communicate fluently in English.
