As the Engineering Automation / AI Lead, you will define and develop digital Automation and AI capabilities to enhance engineering productivity and support Defense Systems strategic initiatives. You will work independently and collaboratively with engineering teams and leaders across the business, contributing to design discussions and process improvements.

Roles and Responsibilities

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Develop and evolve Automation and AI tools in a fast-paced, agile environment using cutting-edge technologies.
  • Write high-quality code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using Python, Java, C++, or other relevant languages.
  • Apply principles of SDLC, Lean/Agile methodologies, CI/CD, and testing techniques to establish a robust development pipeline.
  • Partner with engineering and digital organizations to create multi-generation software technology plans.
  • Balance delivery speed, quality, and sustainability of tools to support business outcomes at business pace

Collaboration Responsibilities:

  • Work with Engineering and Business leaders to understand requirements and translate them into prioritized user stories and business tools.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with digital and business teams to ensure sustainable solutions and governance.
  • Drive efficiency across engineering teams by eliminating duplication and enabling tool reuse.
  • Support the team and broader business organization with technical expertise and insight.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or STEM majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in product engineering or software development
  • Strong background in product design, systems engineering, and/or engineering sciences.
  • Proficiency in Windows and Unix/Linux programming, including Python, Java, or C++.
  • Familiarity with AWS, containerization, and SDLC solutions.
  • Experience with engineering toolchains (e.g., Teamcenter, NX, Ansys, Altair, Cameo) and digital engineering processes.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.  We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship
