The Role

This role will be working in Raytheon’s Combat System Support Agent team maintaining the RAN’s capability on the Hobart Class DDG Destroyers.

You will be the technical lead of a team of systems, hardware, software, speciality engineering and logistics designers developing and implementing design changes to the Combat System, experiencing the whole design lifecycle from requirements definition through to customer Acceptance.

With a physical presence at the DDGs home port you will have opportunity to interact directly with members of the DDG System Project Office and Ship Staff, the end users of your work.

Positions are available at the DDGs home port at Garden Island, NSW and at Raytheon offices in Macquarie Park, NSW, Mawson Lakes, SA and Cannon Hill, Qld

• In close co-operation with your peer Project Manager, planning and managing a variety of projects that span the entire systems engineering lifecycle, including undertaking
  • Development of integrated master plans and schedules
  • Development of organisation structures
  • Allocation of team members to tasking
  • Monitoring the technical performance against plan and taking corrective action when required
  • Identification of risks and opportunities
  • Accurate and timely reporting to the Project Manager and other stakeholders
  • Liaison with Subject Matter Experts both within the CSSA and with Raytheon’s functional leads
  • Developing and delivering presentation material for regular stakeholder meetings and at major status reviews
  • Share expertise and lessons learned with your peers
  • Provide mentoring and career development advice to team members

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent)
• 5+ years experience leading a multidisciplinary technical team
• Demonstrable experience in one or more of the Systems Engineering lifecycle elements such as Requirements Development, Design Definition, Design Development, Integration and Verification
• Excellent written and oral communications skills essential.
• Use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
• Experience in a Defence related industry is highly desirable
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a NV-1 Security clearance as needed. Eligibility can be found at http://www.defence.gov.au/agsva
