Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Process tracking, metrics tracking. Responsible for headcount and various other financial data used for ultimate decision making and program management.
  • Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to develop and execute strategy.
  • Understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
  • Uses judgment make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering.  Has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
  • Responsible for understanding and tracking budget, spend and schedule.
  • Strong customer interface as part of program planning and execution.
  • Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
  • Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others options on topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view.
  • Monitor and drive closure on external cause that could impact engineering execution.
  • Manages labor data through tracking, monitoring and action planning.
  • Support Leadership Monthly Operating Review related activities and inputs.
  • Establish and manages program Plant & Equipment needs and spend.
  • Leads employee recognition/award process.
  • Support implementation and execution of the Lean framework.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in engineering and/or engineering operations and program management

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Established project management skills.
