Summary of Position: (Brief description of overall responsibilities and function) 

The Manager, Engineering Proposals Management - US Based, leads the Requirements Analysis Office within the US geography that means being the main interface, from within E&I, towards Sales, Marketing & Contracts and Product Line Management units in the frame of the preparation of proposals and for all the aspects relevant to new opportunities requiring preliminary engagement of E&I for the US based LH products.

In addition, the Manager is accountable for the delivery in time and on quality of RA deliverables, such as Engineering Proposals and related Statement of Work, as a result of the preliminary assessment of technical solutions and the definition of relevant assumptions, effort, high level planning and risks. 

The Manager, Engineering Proposals Management - US Based, deals with the Head of the Requirements Analysis and with the other Geo-Based Engineering Proposals Management presidia with the aim to coordinate the cross-geo pool of Engineering Proposals Managers in terms of execution of activities and resources allocation, aiming also to address all the proposals in accordance with E&I strategy and to maximize reuse of common practices and solutions. 

The Manager also manages priorities for the delivery of US originated Engineering Proposals by dealing with external (e.g. Sales Engineering and PLMs for Bids & Proposals) and internal (e.g. CPEs for Initiative Cards) stakeholders and ensures tracking of Engineering Proposals status and respect of relevant assigned due dates.

For major bids/proposals the Manager, Engineering Proposals Management - US Based, ensures that the Procurement & Supply Chain organization have transferred to the vendor and/or STCH their respective requirements.

The Manager, Engineering Proposals Management - US Based, is responsible to guarantee all the proposed technical solutions are in accordance with E&I strategy and approved by Product Engineering – USA and involved CPEs.

Contribute in setting/promoting the E&I strategy as part of the technical solutions to be offered by coordinating with Product Engineering – USA, CPEs and Head of Requirements Analysis

Coordinate Engineering Proposals preparation, relying on a pool of cross-geo Requirements Analysis resources, in terms of execution of activities and resources allocation.

Ensure common understanding and common approach between RA Offices (cross-geography) by participating in recurring cross-geographical RA meetings

Approve the documentation relevant to the US issued Engineering Proposals

Prepare and manage budgets for the US RA Office

Qualifications for Position:  

A. Education 
  1. Master’s degree in engineering plus 7/10 years of experience in similar/contributing roles; Bachelor’s Degree in engineering plus 12/15 years of experience in a similar/contributing role.

  

 B. Experience

  1. Knowledge of certification rules and proof knowledge of aviation technology. 
  2. Experience in engineering design, systems integration and project engineering.  
  3. Substantial experience in analysis/assessment of requirements.  
  4. Experience in managing company sensitive topics with LHD external stakeholders (eg. customers). 

 C. Competencies & Attributes

1. 

Knowledge of helicopter systems; strong knowledge of AW products preferred

Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate effectively at varying levels across an organization.
