Assigned to work the in the SRA. Must possess the skills necessary to perform complex circuit/design analysis to facilitate depot level repair of standard Army and Special Operations Aviation (SOA) unique communication, navigation, and electrical systems. Position will serve as Team Lead for junior Electronic Technicians assigned to the SRA. Frequent communication with industry engineers is anticipated to work through complex communication, navigation, and electrical malfunctions on SOA systems. Develops repair procedures for equipment that is no longer under warranty to be repaired on-station. Must be versatile with both 115 VAC/400 Hz and 28VDC expertise.
Responsibilities
- Must be familiar with using electronic test equipment such as oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, audio R/F generator, RF meter, frequency counter, signal injector, etc.
- Makes standard and depot level repairs on communications, navigation, survivability, radar, AC/DC aircraft electrical equipment, and other aircraft system components.
- Develops test equipment and procedures for SOF aviation equipment.
- Develops the necessary Interface Control Documents (ICD) and other engineering documents for developing post repair acceptance test procedures.
- Will review other electronic technicians’ work for quality and ensure it is ready for inspection.
- Works directly with vendors and suppliers to obtain technical information for repairs and testing of both military and COTS equipment.
- Uploads firmware and software for avionic components.
- Part of a team required to troubleshoot and repair hangar 115VAC/400 Hz aircraft power supply units.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
- Must have a minimum of 7 years’ experience in and avionics/communications system/component repair field.
- Must be an expert in 115 VAC/400 Hz and 28 VDC aircraft wiring/components/operation.
- Must have or be able to obtain certification in advanced soldering for circuit boards including surface mount installation.
- Must be able to pass solder vision testing.
- Must have own tools and toolbox.
- Must be proficient in using the MS Office Suite.
