The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Entry-Level Software Engineer - Developer to support our E-7 Software New Business team located in Tukwila, Washington. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense Services (BDS) business organization.
The AEW&C E-7 New Business team will engage in cutting-edge research and development to lay the foundation of the future of the E-7 platforms software capabilities. This team is a passionate, driven and collaborative team that embraces modern software best practices, standards and initiatives to enhance the E-7 platforms performance and adaptability.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assists with the design, development, test, and maintenance of non-embedded software throughout the end-to-end lifecycle that meets industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards
- Gathers information to review, analyze, and translate customer requirements into initial design of software products
- Assists with development, maintenance, enhancement and optimization of software products and functionalities for systems integrations
- Assists with development, documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software products
- Assists with debugging and resolution of issues identified to ensure the reliability and efficiency of software products
- Participates in handling user inquiries, troubleshooting technical issues and user feedback analysis
- Assists with implementation of current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks and changes in regulations relevant to software development
- Assists to develop, establish, monitor and improve software processes, tools and key performance metrics that align projects with organizational goals and industry benchspans
- Provides information to execute and document software research and development project
- Gathers information to perform software project management activities and software supplier management functions
- Assists to track and evaluate software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process compliance to project plans and industry standards
This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline experience or 13 years of related relevant work experience
Experience with host environments, including processors, operating systems and networks. Ability to build, integrate and troubleshoot software components
Experience in software programming languages and databases and the ability to apply to the software domain. Programming languages encompass higher order languages, auto-coded languages and assembly languages
Experience in software architecture and design methodologies
Experience in software development processes in compliance with established internal and industry standards, guidelines, and best practices in the development, testing, and deployment of software
Experience with general and software development and testing tools, capability and usage
Experience in domains, characteristics, constraints and products that require software and influence architecture, requirements, interfaces, designs, and integration/test approaches
Experience with supplier assessment processes including Preferred Supplier Certification and Work Transfer Process
Experience in implementation, validation, and verification processes, practices, and guidelines to ensure software development quality, performance, and safety
Travel: 25 of the time

Summary Pay Range for: $83,300 - $112,700
