The Boeing Company is currently seeking Entry-Level Software Engineers–Simulation to support our Training Systems - Battlespace Simulation Management team located in Hazelwood, Missouri. This position will support one of our programs in the Air Dominance portfolio.

Develop subsystems for Boeing Flight Trainers such as the Instructor/Operator Station, Brief/Debrief Station, Synthetic Environments, and core building block technologies used for all our flight trainers (graphics, video, networking, mission planning, exercise management & control).

BSM is responsible for the design, development, manufacture, and maintenance of training devices for a wide variety of commercial and military aircraft - everything from F-15 fighter jets to Apache attack helicopters, and even NASAs Starliner spacecraft. Software engineers on our team are responsible for all phases of the software lifecycle, including architecture, design, implementation and tests. They are also directly involved in planning their own work, as part of the agile methodology, with a focus on technical excellence.

The BSM team is a large software development team comprised of several smaller agile teams, some with specialized skills. Our backlog includes everything from new feature development using cutting-edge technology to maintenance of legacy software baselines. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable working in an often fast-paced environment within a two-week &34;sprint&34; schedule.  As an experienced member of the team, you will be supporting the entire product development life cycle within BSM.

Position Responsibilities:

• Assists with development, documentation and maintenance of architecture, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems

• Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system

• Assists with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met

• Participates in design and implementation peer reviews

• Selects, tailors and deploys processes and tools; establishes metrics

• Promotes continuous improvement with ideas for process, tool, and automation improvements

• Performs software research and trade studies

• Plans and executes work within a scrum team using scaled agile practices

• Collaborate with agile teams to design, implement, and test new features and capabilities while delivering the desired business impact

• Troubleshoot software issues

• Works under general supervision

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

• Ability to Obtain U.S. Secret security clearance – Final Post-Start

• 1+ years of experience or coursework in some of the following areas: real-time software engineering; C/C++, Ada, python; Object Oriented methodology; software development tools; Agile Software Development

• 1+ years of experience with programming in C, C++ or C

• 1+ years of prior experience working within integrated development environments

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

• Prior experience with object-oriented software architecture / design patterns

• Experience with UX/UI design using tools such as Qt

• Experience with Automated Software Testing

• Experience with tools for Continuous Integration/Delivery, Version Control, and Build Automation

• Familiarity with agile methodologies such as scrum or SAFe

• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Jenkins, Gitlab, CMake, Visual Studio

• Familiarity with simulation standards such as Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS), Distributed Mission Operations (DMO), and High-Level Architecture (HLA)

• Experience with aircraft platforms, aviation, simulation, and training systems is beneficial

Travel: Occasional travel (10) may be required in support of the program and customer.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as spanet and business considerations. 

Summary pay range for Associate Level: $69,700 - $94,300
