Equipment Engineer (d/m/f) Eurofighter Sensors (Product Lifecycle Management)

Our team is responsible to develop sensor equipment solutions for the Eurofighter within national as well as multi-national projects supporting the overall product lifecycle: starting with technology and research projects, feasibility studies and system definition phases, development, integration and qualification tasks and finally support of the introduction to customer fleet.

We are looking for a highly motivated engineer to strengthen our team regarding Equipment Product Lifecycle Management for the new Eurofighter E-Scan Radar system.

You will be part of an international and growing team composed of nearly 30 engineers located in Manching, Ulm and Warton directly influencing Eurofighter’s future.

You will collaborate and communicate directly with various Airbus Center of Competences, Airbus Program Management Organisation, Equipment suppliers, partner companies and our customers.

Your tasks and responsibilities
  • Manage the Equipment product related processes regarding Configuration-, Data- and Change Management together with the Equipment supplier as well as with the responsible Airbus-internal stakeholders under the responsibility of the Equipment Design Responsibility (EDR)
  • Analyse Configuration-, Data- and Change Management related requirements and interfaces (e.g. customer requirements, project and company specific guidelines, international and national standards) and derive related EDR requirements
  • Define, align, control and maintain the Equipment product related processes and procedures regarding Configuration-, Data- and Change Management under the responsibility of the EDR and together with the Equipment supplier
  • Be responsible for the Configuration-, Data- and Change Management related EDR tool chain (e.g. PDM, PLM Team Center, JIRA, Confluence, SAP) and manage data access under the responsibility of the EDR
  • Be responsible for the classified data transfer and respective data integrity under the responsibility of the EDR
  • Lead a working group with stakeholders from Airbus and the Equipment supplier dealing with Equipment product related Configuration-, Data- and Change Management topics
  • Manage the EDR review cycle of all Equipment supplier’s development artefacts and documents within Airbus and in coordination with the Equipment supplier in preparation for Milestone Reviews
  • Manage and conduct Equipment product related Change Control Boards to release changes to the Equipment requirements and to agree how to handle Equipment product related problem reports during the development and integration phase
  • Measure and control Key Performance Indicators for the Equipment product related Configuration-, Data- and Change Management processes and procedures and present results to Project- and Program Management

Desired skills and qualification
  • Bachelor/Master in Aeronautical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • Knowledge about Configuration- ,Data- and Change Management and experiences regarding Configuration Management tools
  • Understanding of certification and qualification requirements for airborne systems
  • Knowledge about Radar and Electronic Warfare technology and/or Eurofighter Weapon System and Avionics
  • Experiences in managing projects is an advantage
  • Experience with supplier management is an advantage
  • Fluent German and English
  • Eager to work in international projects and as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Interest and ability to work on different projects simultaneously
