Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced ATE (Automated Test Equipment) Software Engineer with a proven track record in designing, developing, and maintain test software solutions for testing Line Replacement Units (LRUs) across diverse Avionics products. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical acumen, problem solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
Position Responsibilities:
- Team Lead, who is proficient in decomposing the Test Requirement to determine the Application Test Software Architecture for Hardware Testing.
- Supports in Software Estimations and ensure timely report out on the progress.
- Understanding of Model based Engineering.
- Should have fair knowledge and hands-on with ATE Equipment trade study supported by compatibility assessment report.
- Proficiency in developing test software using LabVIEW, LabVIEW RealTime, NI TestStand, NI DAQMX and other NI tools for test automation.
- Experience in defining software architecture and developing modular and reusable code by applying various LabVIEW design patterns and frameworks such as DQMH, LabVIEW Actor framework and LabVIEW OOPS.
- Experience in developing test scripts in NI Teststand, Python, and C.
- Proficient in developing VISA and IVI based instrument drivers for instrument control and measurement.
- Comprehend and utilize various product design and test documents, including product level requirements, Interface Control Documents, TRD Test Requirements Design, Qualification Test Plans, etc.
- Design and development of software tailored for testing Avionics LRUs, ensuring adherence to rigorous quality and conformance standards DO-160, DO-254 and Aerospace process standard especially AS9100.
- Experience in selecting, evaluating, and troubleshooting diverse hardware platforms such as PCIe/PXIE, VME/VXI and Instruments such as AC/DC power supplies, DMMs, PDUs, Oscilloscope, Protocol analyzers, RF instruments and PXI/PCI based Analog and Discrete I/O cards.
- Expertise in data acquisition software for measurement and integration of various sensors like temperature sensors (RTDs, Thermocouples), pressure sensors, flow sensors, RSLV, LVDT, etc., within the test environment.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in Avionics communication protocols such as ARINC 429, ARINC 825, ARINC 664, ARINC 818, ARINC 825 and ARINC 717.
- Familiarity with communication interfaces like RS-232, RS422, Ethernet, GPIB, SPI, and I2C.
- Desirable understanding of the DO-178C, DO-160 and DO-254 standards.
- Preparation of Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR) packages for ATE systems.
- Experience in providing guidance, support, and technical mentorship.
This position is expected to be 100 at BIETC Campus. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

- Bachelors/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
- 8-12 years of progressive experience in ATE software development for Avionics products, including leading team of software engineers.
- Proficiency in LabVIEW, LabVIEW Real Time, C, NI TestStand, and NI software tools for test automation and development.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams and interpret technical documentation effectively.
Required Skills:
- Prior experience in developing test solutions for Avionics.
- In-depth involvement in product test strategy discussions and contributing to the formulation of robust test plans.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align test strategies with Avionics product requirements and aerospace industry standards.
- Experience and knowledge in programming languages like C++, C .Net and Embedded development and troubleshooting.
- Preferably hold CLD or CLA certification in LabVIEW.
Typical Education & Experience:
- Bachelors/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
- 8-12 years of progressive experience in ATE software development for Avionics products, including leading team of software engineers.
