The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) organization, Vertical Lift Division is seeking an Experienced Tool Engineer (Level 3) to join our tooling team in St. Louis, MO.  We provide direct support on the F-15 program.  Our group works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept development, proposal writing, requirements and design, build, integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant environments.

Position Overview:

The Experienced Tool Engineer will be a part of a high-performing team that are immersed in high intensity development projects.  As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on Boeing Defense and Space project working on state-of-the-art aircraft. This position will focus on tool engineering for the F-15.  This role will support manufacturing engineering as well as F-15 production assembly.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates program and project requirements, develops complex equipment and tooling concepts and designs solutions for the Production System.

  • Compiles and analyzes technical data to determine the effects on product engineering design and rate estimates, identifies robotics, automation or technology recommendations and system integration for equipment and tooling.

  • Ensures compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.

  • Validates contractual performance milestones, maintains configuration control, conducts reviews, prepares plans for productions readiness, preventative maintenance, and spares.

  • Conducts training for Production and Maintenance personnel.

  • Develops and implements work-arounds and maintains configuration of hardware, software and documentation. Performs studies and make recommendation for disposition of assets.

Work Authorization:

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors Degree or higher from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

  • 3 years or more of experience with design experience.

  • Experience working with Siemens NX software.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in Aerospace design.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. (Basic relocation is available for internal candidates, based on candidate eligibility.)

Summary pay range: $90,100 - $121,900
