Our operations in the Falkland Islands play a critical role in supporting Offshore Energy Services (OES) and industry search and rescue activities. As we expand our capability, we are seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to join our team based in Stanley.
The Role
The Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing all aircraft maintenance activities within the operation. The successful candidate will lead a team of skilled technicians to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable delivery of engineering activity on the Sikorsky S‑92 helicopter fleet.
This position requires strong technical leadership, a deep understanding of aircraft systems, and comprehensive knowledge of aviation regulatory compliance and maintenance best practices.
The role operates on a 42 days on / 42 days off rotation, with travel and a location allowance provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all engineering operations to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable aircraft availability.
- Ensure compliance with Part 145 MOE and applicable airworthiness requirements.
- Report engineering deficiencies to the Maintenance Manager and support resolution.
- Implement effective corrective actions following audits or safety incidents.
- Ensure engineering facilities and operational areas meet regulatory standards.
- Maintain compliant storage and control of parts, tools, equipment, and materials required for maintenance activities.
- Ensure production planning is accurate and meets company standards.
- Ensure adequate staffing of competent personnel to plan, perform, supervise, inspect, and certify maintenance work, including specialist tasks.
- Participate in safety investigations and actively promote a positive safety and reporting culture.
- Foster strong teamwork and collaboration across the organisation.
- Provide reasonable out-of-hours technical support when required.
- Perform additional duties as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
Experience & Qualifications
- B1.3 and/or B2 Aircraft Maintenance Licence.
- Relevant helicopter maintenance experience; experience on the Sikorsky S-92 is desirable but not essential.
- Previous Category C certifying experience.
- Sound understanding of the aviation regulatory framework.
- Demonstrated supervisory and/or management experience within an engineering environment.
