We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer. In this role you will join the Customer & Network Care team of the Daher Aircraft Division at the Pompano Beach facility. Your main objective is to ensure the safety and satisfaction of customers, pilots and service network operating or supporting the TBM, Kodiak, TB and Rallye aircraft models.Job description
Responsibilities
Provide engineering and technical assistance and guidance to customers, directly and via the distributor and service center network.
Liaison with factory engineering, design, and production departments to create solutions to field issues and repairs.
Solving in-service issues, via processing in-service data and other available information to optimize troubleshooting.
Analyze technical issues faced by the customers and coordinate internally and externally to find solutions
Capitalize on the data in a C.R.M (Customer Relationship Management) tool around the notions of Fleet, Contacts, Technical Subjects, Warranty, etc.
Follow-up of domestic Distributors and Service Centers network by:
Working directly with network manager to provide methods and tools to promote network standardization.
Actively participate in projects to improve the tools made available to end customers and members of the network of maintenance centers to make them ever more efficient and easier to use.
Develop professional relationships with the distributors and the service centers in person or remotely.
Relay customer feedback via proper channels and propose improvements as necessary to improve overall customer satisfaction.
Anticipate, evaluate, and respond to customer’s needs and requests in a timely manner.
Conduct efficient follow-up for customers satisfaction, ensuring all commitments and expectations are met while working with local support team and team at the factory in France and Sandpoint, Idaho.
Be available to provide on-call response to emergency situations.
Assist the support network in warranty administration and parts/logistic coordination.
Continuous customer support case management via the various platforms of communication with customers and service network.
Take the initiative to learn new systems and assist with explaining improvements of existing aircraft systems and network processes to the network service centers.
Actively contribute towards creation and sharing the technical knowledge database.
Contribute to writing processes and procedures to ease workflow and case management.
Specific Skills/ Professional Background:
6 plus years of experience as an field service engineer, engineer in aviation, TBM technician or aviation emergency response.
Good technical knowledge of airframe, engine, propeller, and avionics (Daher products preferred)
Avionics and electrical system knowledge required.
Knowledge of Garmin suites and avionics training certificate preferable.
Web design and Programming (preferred)
Computer literacy and proficiency using Microsoft applications to provide analytical reports and presentations is a must.
This work requires a great deal of autonomy while reporting regularly to their superiors and colleagues.
Ability to coordinate high volume of communications with service network and customers.
Specific requirements/terms of employment:
- HS diploma or GED required.
- BS in engineering required. Mechanical, electrical, aeronautical is preferred.
- FAA Airframe or Powerplant, and/or avionics training or experience is a plus.
- Frequent domestic travels with occasional international travel opportunities.
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking, with skills in presenting in public). A second language is beneficial.
- Flexible work schedule with overtime as requested based on demand.
- Must have a valid passport or ability to obtain one. Domestic and international travel required.
