Final Release Inspector
Job Description:

Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are now recruiting for a Final Release Inspector to join our Quality team, where you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of safety, compliance and precision before reaching our customers. This role will be based at our Staverton site.

Ontic is more than just a business, we’re a community of innovators who pride ourselves on fostering a culture where talent thrives, ideas flourish, and careers are built. We’re committed to excellence, driving us to continuously improve and adapt, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of our industry.

The Role:

As a Final Release Inspector, you’ll be responsible for carrying out critical final inspections on parts and assemblies, ensuring they fully comply with company, industry and customer standards prior to release. Your work will directly support the sign-off of airworthiness release and conformity certification, making this a key role in maintaining Ontic’s reputation for quality and reliability.

You’ll work closely with teams across Quality, Operations and Engineering, using your technical expertise to verify build documentation, interpret engineering drawings and ensure all inspection requirements are met. Alongside this, you’ll raise and manage non-conformances, including Material Reject Reports, and support the resolution of defects to enable timely product shipment.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll also contribute to in-process audits and continuous improvement activities, helping to enhance processes, performance and compliance across the business.

About you:

At Ontic, our culture is integral to making sure we enjoy our work and deliver for our customers. While we look for the right skillset, we’re also looking for someone who will thrive within our recognition and empowerment culture.

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring experience working within an aerospace environment, including exposure to the release of aerospace products. You’ll have a strong understanding of industry standards such as AS9100 and be confident working with engineering drawings, build documentation and inspection processes.

You’ll be comfortable using a range of inspection tools and measurement equipment, with a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of tolerances, traceability and record keeping. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels will be essential, as you’ll regularly collaborate to resolve quality issues and ensure smooth product release.

You’ll also be confident using systems and tools such as MS Office and ERP or PLM/MES systems, and ideally have experience with First Article Inspection Reporting (AS9102) and quality inspection practices within a regulated environment.

Benefits
