Contract Position
$59.28-$64.28/Hour
Join a team dedicated to designing and producing armored combat and support vehicles. As a prime mover in ground force capabilities, this firm provides innovative solutions that ensure the safety and effectiveness of military personnel worldwide, focusing on durability, mobility, and performance.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, integration, and release of system and subsystem assemblies and components, with a focus on gun/turret drives, racerings, weapon systems integration, and ammunition handling mechanisms.
Develop articulating, locking, and sliding hardware to meet Human Factors requirements.
Create and support CAD models, installation layouts, and detailed drawings in collaboration with Design Services.
Provide hands-on support during procurement, prototype build, and vehicle integration phases to resolve engineering issues.
Read and interpret technical drawings and perform tolerance stack-ups; working knowledge of GD&T is preferred.
Support failure analysis and recommend corrective action solutions.
Contribute to concurrent engineering reviews, technical documentation, and report generation.
Familiarity with FEA tools (e.g., ANSA, Nastran, LS-DYNA) is a plus.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
5+ years of experience in a professional mechanical engineering role.
Proficiency in CAD modeling tools for design and concept generation.
Experience conducting preliminary design and analysis based on technical requirements.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to work in an Integrated Product Team environment and communicate across functional departments.
Willingness to work in office, shop, lab, or field environments.
Must be able to work overtime and travel as required.
