Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) is currently seeking a Flight Test Application Development Engineer to join the Midwest Data Processing & Visualization team in Berkeley, MO.
Boeing Test & Evaluation’s Midwest Data Processing & Visualization team develops software applications and tools for instrumentation system setup and configuration; real-time monitoring; and post-test data processing, storage, access, visualization, and analysis. These tools enable our flight test operations teams to efficiently collect, view, and analyze high-quality time history data to validate specially-equipped aircraft and weapon systems.
This requires a wide range of skills, including experience with modern software development practices, user interface design, database design and interaction, management of large volumes of data, operations in real-time environments, and hardware and software integration. C/C++, C, WinForms/WPF/WinUI or Blazor, SQL Server, Visual Studio, .NET framework, git, and Azure DevOps are used daily to maintain legacy software and develop new applications as needed to support our users.
We’re looking for self-starters who can handle a variety of tasks; design, develop, and troubleshoot Windows-based software applications; derive requirements and determine the best path forward even when working from an incomplete work scope; and work efficiently in a dynamic team environment.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience including an Associate or Experienced Level Flight Test Application Development Engineer.
Position Responsibilities Include:
Develop or modify legacy (C++) or modern (C) applications based on defined requirements
Develop unit or system tests to verify operational and functional requirements
Troubleshoot and resolve software integration issues and production anomalies
Research basic technologies for potential application to company business needs
Work under general supervision, effectively communicating and collaborating within the team to develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve software applications and tools
Develop an understanding of flight test and data processing to better help the operation teams
Use software development practices that increase code quality, maintainability, and reuse
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
Software development experience in C++ and C using Microsoft Visual Studio and .NET
Experience troubleshooting application software
Experience developing and testing software applications
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Level 3: 3 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience troubleshooting and resolving issues with fielded application software
Experience with data communication protocols, including Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC, CAN bus, and/or Serial
Experience collaborating with users to develop software requirements, and perform integration or testing/verification activities
Experience leading projects in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team including designers, engineers, writers, product managers and software developers
Active U.S. security clearance ((A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, computer engineering, or similar

Summary Pay Range Associate Level: $91,800 - $124,200
Summary Pay Range Experienced Level: $112,200 - $151,800
