Boeing Canada Winnipeg is seeking an Associate or Mid-Career Industrial Engineer, reporting to the Industrial Engineering Manager and working out of the Winnipeg, Manitoba Office.

The Industrial Engineer will be working on day shift supporting our operations customers within an Industrial Engineering capacity.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Applies industrial engineering concepts, approaches and techniques to product, process and services to meet program requirements of moderate complexity.

  • Maintains and develops plant and equipment layouts, capacity plans, accident prevention measures, sequencing of operations and work flows.

  • Supports the evaluation of new techniques and technological developments for integration into the production process and service operations.

  • Designs, maintains, and optimizes the production system by integrating design, supply base, facilities, equipment, and personnel.

  • Completes work flow design and analysis.

  • Develops moderately complex models, databases and spreadsheets to analyze data and provides summary analysis and metrics for consultation to leaders.

  • Assists with research, design, development, improvement, and implementation of processes and tools to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, for large scale systems integration and asset utilization.

  • Develops and implements plans and programs for facility/factory modifications and revisions to operating methods.

  • Provides product assembly instructions and standardizes assembly practices.

  • Prepares operations plans, includes work statement analysis, budgeting and forecasts, capacity and constraint analysis and production change, to ensure technical goals and objectives are met.

  • Supports execution planning by using project management, planning and scheduling and shop load practices.

  • Provides production, supply chain logistics, performance visibility and recovery planning support of moderate complexity.

  • Reconciles compliance with established industry safety, design standards and ergonomic guidelines.

This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 2+ years of experience in an industrial engineering capacity (Example: data analysis, solution optimization, time studies, resource planning, lean, manufacturing engineering, and production system development)

  • Must have a Bachelor of Science Degree or higher in a relevant field of Engineering (Industrial, Management, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering)

  • Be eligible to be registered as an Engineer in Training (E.I.T) with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM)

  • Must have advanced ability in the use of Microsoft Office which includes Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Experience/understanding of production and business systems (SAP ECC, SAP CAMS, and/or equivalents)

  • Knowledge of Resource/Capacity planning

  • Must be legally able to work in Canada

  • Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods

  • Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data

Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in an industrial engineering capacity (Example: data analysis, solution optimization, time studies, resource planning, lean, manufacturing engineering, and production system development)

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in a relevant field of Engineering and be registered with the Engineer Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM) as a Professional Engineer

  • Experience with compiling data to provide recommendations for review

  • Experience in metrics, KPI development, and data analytics

  • Simulation/Modelling software (ProModel or Simio) proficiency

  • Experience with AutoCAD

Typical Education and Experience:

Associate (Level 2): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master).  

Mid-Career (Level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+ 3 years related work experience).

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Additional Information:

This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada.  Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
