Working with our other highly motivated developers, you will be involved in the entire cycle of the software engineering process. The Ignition platform is a strategic part of Pratt & Whitney’s OT-IT-Cloud enterprise digital transformation, allowing you to gain valuable work experience in various emerging technology areas.
Continuous development of Ignition software solutions to both support new features and existing code enhancements
Translating manufacturing functional requirements into technical solution architecture
Author technical design documentation for the solutions
Support existing manufacturing solutions and resolve any system issues
Work on multiple projects simultaneously with regular reporting in a gated process
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or related field and 9 years of experience; or Advanced degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or related field and 7 years of experience.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Inductive Automation Ignition development and deployment with strong knowledge of Ignition Platform best practices and methodologies
Must be proficient, with hands on experience, in building Ignition applications & integrations, SCADA solutions, and HMI Software
Experience with communication protocols including TCP/IP, OPC, MQTT, Modbus
Experience with Manufacturing Operations & Supply Chain with an expertise in creating industrial solutions for the factory-floor
Experience developing solutions while also considering system aspects such as reliability, efficiency, scalability, and supportability and ensuring interoperability with other modules within the Ignition Platform and across the manufacturing technology stack
Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
Must be able to effectively work as a team player in a remote environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Ignition Core and/or Gold Certification preferred
Experience delivering software releases using Agile methodology
Experience creating visualization and user experiences that are user-centric to factory floor operators
Experience with Sepasoft’s MES modules
Good understanding of IT networks and how it relates to setting up controllers and the Ignition Gateway
Good understanding of relational SQL databases
Programming languages including: Jython, Python, Java, MS SQL, HTML, JavaScript
Industrial automation platforms and software (Wonderware, GE, Siemens, and others)
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Team player with strong follow up skills and relationship building skills
Detail oriented, analytical, and able to trace problems
