Information Technology and Communication (IT/COMs) Senior Engineer

Job Description:

Job Summary:
The role of Information Technology and Communication (IT/COMs) Senior Engineer is expected to support the Chief Engineer and the IT/COMs Lead with IT/COMs domain activities related to the life cycle of a large integrated system, deployed at a national level. This system life cycle includes concepts, requirements, design, implementation, verification, deployment, validation, acceptance and maintenance/support. It involves also interaction with the customer and end-user. The role reports to the Head of Engineering (Chief Engineer) and the IT/COMs Lead Engineer. The role is based in Riyadh, but frequent travel to locations in Saudi Arabia is required. Occasional international travel is also expected.

Person Specifications:

• 10&43; years of diverse hands on experience in information technology infrastructure systems and platforms including Networking, Security, Database, Hyper Converged systems, SAN solutions, Backup & Restore, , System management (e.g. deployment & provisioning, monitoring), Data center solutions, etc.
• Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft product technology and architectures
• Have extensive experience in designing and managing Microsoft Windows servers systems
• Advanced knowledge with Microsoft Active Directory Services including DNS, DHCP, and DFS.
• Advanced Microsoft virtualization services (Hyper-V) - virtual machines and containers
• Advanced Microsoft Public Key Infrastructure and Microsoft Exchange knowledge
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft System Center suite (SCCM, SCOM, SCDPM, SCVMM, SCOrch)
• Knowledge of other virtualization technologies are welcomed (e.g. KVM, RHEL, VMware)
• Knowledge of network design, deployment and administration
• Knowledge of the CISCO technology (switching and routing)
• Knowledge of Containerization technologies (e.g Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher)
• Hands-on experience with Continuity of Operations/Disaster Recovery architecture and planning.

• Essential to be fluent in written and spoken English
• Desirable to be able to communicate in Arabic

Benefitial Qualifications and Experience:

• Have a strong engineering background working on large integration projects
• Experience in working with direct interface to the customer
• Have worked with a broad range of information technology systems e.g. Networking, Storage, Server, Virtualization, System/Network administration etc.
• Detailed experience in relevant Information Technology and communication solutions.
• Driving license

Key Result Areas & Areas Of Accountability:

• Develop parts of IT and communication system design documents and specific artefacts (requirements, tests, etc) in collaboration with the ITC team in Europe.
• Act as first PoC for IT/COMs technical issues.
• Develop and review IT/COMs documents (design, installation, administration and user manuals)
• Develop and review System Acceptance Documents
• Support System Element Acceptance in EU and Saudi Arabia
• All the activities are performed in alignment with the IT/COMs team in in Europe Support delivery in time, to quality and within cost of the IT/COMs system
• Conduct workshops related to IT/COMs CFI (Customer Furnished Items) related to SWAN, WAN, VoIP, External IF, IT/COMs Security and IT2/3.
• Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying them to requirements and solutions, support other domains (e.g. do basic power and cooling calculations to support INFRA Team)
• Provide support to O&S (in service support) to resolve outstanding tickets assigned to engineering.
• Technical Procurement Management (internal and external suppliers) for IT/COMs products.
• Attend all project technical workshops related to IT/COMs
• Develop layouts in Visio
• Develop detailed technical presentations
• Support the handover and training activities to O&S department for IT/COMs components
