GE Aerospace is seeking an Instructional Designer that will be responsible for designing learning experiences and creating instructional media that develops our employees’ lean behaviors and skills within FLIGHT DECK, our proprietary lean operating model. This individual contributor role is responsible for developing learning to support our curriculum. It will involve engaging with internal Subject Matter Experts and the central FLIGHT DECK Operations team to ensure we have consistently excellent lean learning across the organization. The role enables the team to execute on their operational goals and drive lean mindset into the organization.The Instructional Designer will have strong technical skills with a clear understanding of learning and development pedagogy. You may not have experience with lean content, but you must be ready to learn and be passionate about enabling culture change through learning. Roles and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and co-create effective learning solutions that incorporate adult learning theory and utilize a variety of modalities
- Partner with content Subject Matter Experts and extended team members on key initiatives and projects
- Evaluate contemporary learning trends and emerging learning design technologies
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, subject matter experts, and counterparts across GE Aerospace
- Ensure alignment of learning solutions to learner needs, learning objectives, business outcomes, and the overall employee development experience.
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree accredited college or university (preferred: Instructional Systems Design, Adult Learning, Education) AND a Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in contemporary instructional design and development, in a corporate environment. (OR a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 7 years professional experience in contemporary instructional design and development, in a corporate environment).
- Experience creating effective and engaging learning interactions, in both face-to-face and virtual environments
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and techniques
- Experience with contemporary design and multimedia programs (i.e. Articulate, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Fluent in English.
- Ability to travel up to 20.
Desired Characteristics and Experience
- Master’s Degree in a related field (i.e. Instructional Systems Design, Adult Learning, Education)
- One year of professional experience in contemporary instructional design and development for a global organization.
- Understand website design and the skills needed to maintain an engaging web platform.
- Experience using AI as a learning platform.
- Experience with building and maintaining websites using custom templates SharePoint.
