Role Overview:
As a Propulsion Engineer at our Strother Field site, you will focus on troubleshooting, engineering analysis, and hardware disposition for CFM56, CF34-8, CF34-10, and PP20 engines. You will resolve complex engine issues, develop optimized work scopes, and provide data-driven recommendations that improve engine performance, reliability, and shop efficiency. You will proactively drive cross-functional problem solving and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and resolve complex engine and hardware issues using data analysis and structured problem-solving (RCA, five-why)
Analyze inspection findings and test data to determine repair/replace/reuse dispositions for engine hardware
Develop incoming engine work scopes that balance technical requirements, customer needs, cost, and schedule
Collaborate with design, quality, and operations to implement corrective actions and drive design or process improvements
Provide clear technical guidance and documentation to production teams, internal partners, and customers
Complete perfection reviews certifying serviceability of engines

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in jet engine workscoping, hardware disposition, or related turbomachinery/rotating equipment engineering OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in jet engine workscoping, hardware disposition, or related turbomachinery/rotating equipment engineering
Minimum 1 year of demonstrated experience troubleshooting technical issues in a production, overhaul, or maintenance environment
Preferred Qualifications:
LEAN/Six Sigma or equivalent problem-solving/quality training
Proficiency with MS Office and basic engineering analysis tools
Experience collaborating in a matrixed, cross-functional environment
SAP experience
Additional Information:
Schedule: 1st Shift, approximately 45 hours/week – with paid overtime
Rotational ‘on-call’ availability for emerging issues
Must pass background checks and drug screenings
Role may require lifting and work in varying environmental conditions
